Chugger Diesel is a small, internet based business which supplies low and medium speed, stationary diesel engines and parts. All our engines are hand startable and many have electric start as well. We have three basic engine types: 

Chinese diesel - 6.5 to 20 HP medium speed engines

Indian “Lister Type” diesel - 6 to 16 HP slow speed engines

Indian “Peter Type” diesel - medium speed engines

         These small but heavy engines are old fashion, generally overbuilt compared to modern engines.  They are “low tech” but the important parts like bearings and fuel injection part are precision made, and the metalurgy is better than antique models. Properly cared for these engines last for a long long time. 

         Under current EPA guidelines, the engines are exempt from emission regulations when used as stationary engines, and infact, this is their best use. To learn more about Lister Type engines visit our Links Page.
